QT BLOGATHON: PULP FICTION
So I'm a day late this time around...you wanna fight about it? Nonetheless, the QT Blogathon waits for no one and we press on. May was spent maying homage to one of my all time favorites, Pulp Fiction. I was not alone in taking on this brilliant film, two compadres joined my quest. Drum roll please...
1. Mr. Darko of The Movie Log gives a shout-out to the brilliance that is Pulp Fiction's non-linear storyline.
2. Brent of Criminal Movies deconstructs Vincent and Jules' bromance gives each character a moment to shine.
Both reviews are excellent, so check them out! Next up, we've got From Dusk Till Dawn (1996). Or...whateverthefuck other joint Tarantino project you want to do. I'm probably going to get out a Four Rooms (1995) review, simply because I've already tacked From Dusk Till Dawn. If anyone else wants to get in on it, send your review/podcast/list/cheeseburgers to mhufstader (at) gm.slc.edu any time before July 1st. On the 1st, I'll put up a list of all the people who sent their reviews in.
Also, in the strain of Tarantino loving, I suggest everyone check out this article about how Inglorious Basterds changed Tarantinoverse forever. Why? Because it's a completely bat-shit crazy theory, but I can't help but dig it. Here's a teaser quote: "Basically, it turns every Tarantino movie into alternate reality sci fi." RIGHT? I say no more.
Thanks again for this brilliant idea, M. I've been meaning to cover Pulp Fiction since forever but your blogathon convinced me to finally do it!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I had the same problem, which was why I came up with it in the first place!
DeleteSo From Dusk Till Dawn is up next. Luckily I brought the 1st and 3rd with me. Maybe I will see if I can find the 2nd or trilogy at Wallmart and watch them all.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to reading that article tomorrow. The Blogathon must continue!!!
Yes sir! More Tarantino is always better. Onward to From Dusk Till Dawn!
DeleteI love you, but I wish I could quit you
ReplyDeleteI know! I'm playing catch-up. I'll check you out soon!
