All The Cool Kids Were Doing It...

15 QUESTIONS. BITCHES.

So it's looking like everyone's jumping on this 15 Questions Meme bandwagon. And by everyone I mean [film] girl and Film Mattic. The meme is originally a brain child of Defiant Success, and I believe it succeeded defiantly. But they just made it look like so much damn fun I had to put my two cents in. And since this is clearly a procrastination technique, we're cutting the crap and skipping straight to the numbers...

1. Movie you love with a passion.
Enough said.

2. Movie you vow to never watch.
Even the poster makes me uncomfortable. Quickly moving on...

3. Movie that literally left you speechless.
$%@#)*! So fucking good.

4. Movie you always recommend.
If you don't like the original series, you might want to check your pulse.

5. Actor/actress you always watch, no matter how crappy the movie.
And he's already made me suffer for this one. Thanks a lot, Green Hornet.

6. Actor/actress you don't get the appeal for.
The answer is Sarah Jessica Parker, not the horse. If you can tell which is which.

7. Actor/actress, living or dead, you'd love to meet.
I don't actually really need to meet Harrison Ford, I just want to meet Indiana Jones, kthx.

8. Sexiest actor/actress you've seen.
I know she's not everyone's favorite, but more for me.  And of course this doesn't hurt.

9. Dream cast.
So they're all kind of very different actors, but hey. It could happen.

10. Favorite actor pairing.
What can I say? RDJ and Val Kilmer make a great bromance.

11. Favorite movie setting.
Unnamed, ambiguous third world country.*

12. Favorite decade for movies.
If you can't tell, I'm a fan.

13. Favorite chick flick or action movie.
It's literally impossible for me to pick one action movie. So its come to this.

14. Favorite hero, villain or anti-hero.
See #8.

15. Black and white or color?

Another Tarantino take over? I think so.

*In no way am I endorsing The Expendables. I still hate its guts.

  1. Great list! I'm especially digging on Christoph as he made me more than suffer through The Green Hornet, as well. Of course my man Gary Oldman has made me suffer mightily, too. Red Riding Hood. Love The Bride and the dream cast is hellagood. I'd carry out nefarious deeds to see them all together in a flick.

Unnamed Third World country...where else can you carry out wholesale destruction on a limited budget, I ask you. And The Human Centipede is topping my list right after High School Musical.

  2. I can't stand Tarantino, but Blanchett is my favourite cinematic being in history :)

  3. Ugh I'm with you on The Human Centipede and Sarah Jessica Parker. And your dream cast is so cool!

Imagine Me & You is one of my favorite romantic comedies, too.

  4. Great list! So glad to see Uma as The Bride, and "Pulp Fiction". "Human Centipede" was as disturbing as it was disgusting. Oh, and your dream cast rocks! :)

  5. Supreme awesomeness explains this list. You've got Pulp Fiction/Tarantino Love, Indiana Jones (the Legend), Star Wars Nostalgia, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly/Sergio Leone Love, Trainspotting Love, and complete detest for Sarah Jessica Fughedabouter. I was seriously debating putting her in my list. Removing her from our accepted consciousness; we're better for it

  6. @ Melissa--Thanks! Christoph definitely has made me suffer--first with Green Hornet and then with Water For Elephants. Granted, he was the only thing GOOD about Water For Elephants...nonetheless. I'm sure he's still going to make me suffer to see his badass mug on the big screen. And I was SO close to seeing Red Riding Hood only for Gary Oldman...and decided to save it for a rental so I could fastforward to his parts.

Exactly! Unnamed Third World Country is always the way to go. And High School Musical and Human Centipede are really the same thing, I still leave both movies with the aftertaste of shit in my mouth.

@ Dez--I'm totally going to forget that first part of your sentence every existed. But Tarantino is kind of a hit-or-miss type of guy, you love him or you hate him. And Blanchette is awesome. Period. Definitely one of my favorite actresses around, if not THE favorite.

  7. @ Alex--Agreed! They're both just horrifying creations. And I'm glad you like the dream cast! Can't get enough of them.

Another soul who's seen Imagine Me & You! I haven't been able to find many of them. It's got lesbians, Lena Headey, and one of the best rom com scripts ever, in my opinion. What's not to like?

@ Nebular--Thanks! Uma is the shit, as is Pulp Fiction. Human Centipede is just shit. I'm glad you like the dream cast! I'll be patiently waiting for that movie now.

@ Matty--Supreme awesomeness! I can't think of a better compliment. Indiana Jones should really just change his name to "the Legend", everyone would still know exactly who you were talking about. And I hate to put some Trainspotting in there, self-deprecating Scottish humor for the win! And I wish I could wipe the stain that is Sarah Jessica Parker off my mind. As someone actually FROM the City...fuck Sex And The City, man. As if we hadn't lost our bad reputation already, they had to put that extra nail in the coffin.

  8. You don't know how badly that SJP photo made me laugh. I don't get the appeal of her, either.

Man, I really wanna do this list now, but I should get some more writing done on my own blog first.

But hey, I can put it in as a filler at some point!

Your answer to the meme is one of my favourites!

Also, The Human Centipede is pretty ridiculously bad. One of the only films I have watched where I have cried with laughter.

  9. I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did! I just don't get the appeal. At all.

You should totally do the list! Little procrastination techniques like this usually at least make me FEEL like I'm getting more writing done, even if I'm just twiddling my thumbs.

And thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. More power to you for stomaching that! I'm glad it was a cry-with-laughter awful movie, that somehow makes me feel a little better about its grossness.

  10. Fantastic chioces,
The Good The Bad and The Ugly leaves me speachless every time I watch it...

I like the dream cast, especially Tim Roth, he's so underrated.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thanks! The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly is always a classic.

And I love me some Tim Roth. He's definitely underrated, and I can't understand why. The dude's a genius, he's in some damn classic movies (Pulp Fiction anymore? Reservoir Dogs?) and yet every time he finishes a movie, the world goes back to forgetting him. WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yeah, you'd think he'd be more well known with all the classic films he's been in...
Have you seen Little Odessa? Roth is great in that and Edward Furlong is surprisingly good in a supporting role. I'd recommend it if you like Tim Roth!

  13. This is me reading this list (selected thoughts):

"Yep. Ewww, yep. Yep. Hell yeah. Yep. Yep. Really, Daniel Craig? That guy has like zero charisma, but the other choices are awesome. Haha, what country is that....ah, nice caption. Fuck yeah the 90s...and love that Salma pic. Never heard of that. Damn, that's a sweet Dogs poster."

  14. @ Jack--I haven't seen little Odessa! I will really have to check it out. He just makes me happy in anything that he's in. One place he really impressed me, though, was with the one film he directed, The War Zone. I'd have never pinned him for a director but damn...that movie was heavy as shit. Especially when you listen to his own personal commentary behind it. Bold stuff.

@ Dylan--I'm loving the play by play! Glad you agree with me on most of the choices! Daniel Craig is another hit or miss actor for some people, I've got an affinity for Layer Cake. And who doesn't love Dusk Till Dawn Salma? The rom com is Imagine Me & You...lesbians galore. And I definitely want to make sweet love to that Dogs poster.

  15. I am late on this, but do NOT hate on Water for Elephants. How dare you? We were on the front row for that movie, sharing popcorn, and whispering about R.Patz while I sucked down a cherry slushie. Damn them for being out of blue raspberry.

That's AFTER you had the manager come down to check your ID a million times before you could buy a beer at dinner.

I have wonderful memories from that date night, so you take that back about the movie. YOU TAKE IT BACK.

  16. I mean--I loved Water For Elephants!!! No, the theater experience was the shit. I had my baby, I had my popcorn, and I got to nurse your blue raspberry wounds. The memories were badass.

But so were my memories of the movie which, from here on out, shall be known as "that talking goat" movie. You, an empty theatre, and "that black couple in the back who we kept sharing shout-outs with?" EPIC. One of the best movie experiences EVER! But...it's also the talking goat movie. Case has been rested.

  17. OMG. Drag Me to Hell? One of my favorite film-going experiences ever.

  18. I KNOW!! Word. Only after Watchmen. Because. Ahem. Well. Drag Me To Hell. Yes.
